Websites for Local Businesses
A site that loads fast, gets found, and belongs to you. Built and launched, not templated.
Most local business websites are one of two things: a template that looks like everyone else’s, or an agency project with a comma in the price and a six-month timeline. This is the middle that should exist. Fixed scope, a fixed starting price, built properly, launched on your own domain, and yours outright when it’s done.
What’s included
- Up to 8 pages. Home, services, about, contact, and the detail pages your business actually needs. Enough to cover a local business properly, small enough to stay finishable.
- Your own domain, launched and live. Not a page on someone else’s platform, not a “coming soon” that never comes.
- Built to get found. Google Search Console and a sitemap wired up from day one, structured data on every page, and plain guidance for your Google Business Profile. Local search is the whole point of a local business site.
- Fast on a phone. Static pages, no bloat. The person searching “near me” is on a phone, and the site treats that as the main event.
- Yours, completely. Code, domain, content. If we never speak again, the site keeps working and keeps being yours.
What’s not included
E-commerce checkout, booking systems, ongoing content writing, and logo design. Those are add-ons, scoped and priced separately when you actually need them. The base price buys the site, not surprises.
How it works
- Walk the business. What you do, what jobs should be shown, what a good customer searches before they find you.
- Build in the open. You see real pages early, not mockups. Copy gets shaped together from what you know about your business.
- Launch and hand over. Domain live, search tooling verified, everything documented in plain language. You own the keys.
The price
From $2,500, agreed before work starts. No hourly meter. Hosting on this stack costs close to nothing, so there is no monthly “hosting fee” dressed up as a service. If you want small changes handled for you, maintenance is $49 to $99 a month, cancel anytime; otherwise pay per change. A site plus one automation is the common starter package, from $3,000.
Proof
crottipainting.com: a painting and epoxy business with 28 years of jobs and no web presence, now live and indexed, its gallery drawn from five years of real work. Go check it; that’s the standard every claim on this site has to meet.
Common questions
Why not just use Wix or Squarespace? For some businesses that’s genuinely enough, and if it is, that’s the honest answer. The difference here is a site built around what people in Lancaster actually search, with the search plumbing done properly, no platform fee running forever, and someone accountable when it needs to change.
Can you add a store or online booking later? Yes, as a scoped add-on. The base site is built so those can bolt on without starting over.
Who writes the words? We shape them together: you know the business, I know what a page needs to say to get found and get calls. Ongoing content publishing is a separate conversation.
How long does it take? The fixed scope is what keeps it short: weeks, not months, and you see progress as real pages, not status reports.
